Just after our walk down the aisle, Mr. C and I had a few giggles about the fact that we just got hitched.
Seeing friends I hadn't seen in a long time was so nice.
There was a lot of catching up to be done!
Lots of emotions came out, too (this is an old family friend of my mom's I hadn't seen in many years).
A big hug from Mr. C's mom.
Mr. C had a laugh with his uncles about the bullet he had in his pocket, which he actually showed me during the ceremony when it was time to exchange rings. He had gone shooting that morning with his buddies and thought it would be funny. Always a prankster. (To be fair, it did make me laugh!)
We stepped away for a moment to bustle my gown, and Chicago J told me about how my dad cried during the ceremony. She almost got me crying just telling me about it!
My sister wanted to see the rings and I asked her to help me switch them out so the wedding ring was on the inside instead of the outside (I wore my engagement ring on the correct finger during the ceremony).
Everyone generally milled around having appetizers and visiting the bar (which, by the way, was open pre-ceremony as well. If you're so inclined, your guests might love it - most of our friends were pretty excited to have a drink in hand during the ceremony. I'm pretty sure Mr. C would have had one too if I would have let him!) We had all sorts of options at the bar, including some tasty sangria, cocktails, wine, and Lone Star, but my favorite part was the ice cold bottles of Shiner Bock!
After we said a quick thank you to our guests, we opened up the buffet line for everyone to load up on all you can eat Salt Lick barbecue. Mmmmm. It was quite a spread, and I saw many a guest head back for additional helpings.
Our wedding coordinator put together plates for me and Mr. C - she said under no circumstances was I to go anywhere near the buffet line in my dress!
How will you spend those moments just after your ceremony? And are you going to make sure you eat? (I highly recommend it!)
